Mobile Technology

Use Of Technology Paper

Mobile Technology has changed the world completely.  Back 50 years ago cell phones were almost non-existent.  Now they are everywhere.  Weather it is a cheap flip phone, a Blackberry, or an Android phone, most people have one.  These phones allow people to change their status on a social networking site, use their email, create spreadsheets, and communicate with all of their friends and colleagues.
Mobile technology has changed tremendously from 10 years ago.  Some people say that mobile technology is ruining society little by little, but I don’t agree with that.  I think mobile technology is making a change for the better.  More people are easily communicating through their phones and technology.  Mobile technology has although changed society in negative ways.  This has caused society to become more materialistic.
People have become much more materialistic in the ways they communicate and use technology.  In todays society, it is less about the features and benefits of the product, but it is more about what the latest phone is.  People don’t always use their phones to their fullest potential.  People in todays society seem to neglect the true meaning of their lives by fulfilling the lives that Hollywood sets out for them.  This has been true in the clothes they were to the Mobile Technology they see, if they see that Paris Hilton got a new Blackberry, it suddenly becomes the latest phone that everyone wants.
A lot has also changed in the sense that the government is able to listen in on all of your telephone calls made.  They can also see all of your documents.  This has taken away privacy for many people.

Blogging

I think blogging is over rated.  I dont like to blog, i dont enjoy reading every single thought that comes from someones head, it gets old.  I can agree that people got fired for blogging but only for certain reasons.  With the blog in the movie that Julie was doing i thought it was really repetitive and every other scene she was sitting at her computer talking to a virtual community of peole who she didnt know.  Blogging is not something i would ever do on my own personal time.  The people who got fired for blogging probably shouldnt have been blogging in the first place and there is a reason that they got fired. Blogging is taking over the world one tech savy nerd at a time : D

5 Minute Free write

I thought the video had a little too much going on.  It focused alot on social networking sites and how they might be separating people from the outside world.  What they forgot to mention was that it may indeed be bringing more people together.  It explained what social networking sites were popular and what sites were good for search engines explaining that youtube is the number 2 largets search engine EVER, which is self-explanitory when you realize that most people will use this site on a daily basis as a form of entertainment and not necisarrily for searching different things.  I think this video was a little over dramatic when it comes to the whole social networking/ internet situation because it does bring more people together than it does tear them apart which explains why it said 1 in 6 people now days have met their significant others on a social networking site because they are easy ways to meet new people without actually going out and meeting them.  I do think social networking sites have taken a little bit away from some peoples social lives but with that being said it has caused some people's social status to rise significantly whithin the years they have  been around.
